Software Factory · open source kernel

You have the agents. Now run the Software Factory around them.

You want superhuman quality at vibe coding speed. Your agents alone will not get you there. You hold every gate; the Factory holds the discipline.

Perfect for you. Enough for a small team. One command installer.

The Software Factory around your teamYour agent, the gold dot at the center. Around it, a hexagon: six axes covered, Speed, Quality, UX, Cyber Security, Infrastructure and Token Economy, with one of your people, a white dot, holding the gate at every vertex. Vibe Coding, The unfinished step

You have lived one of these three, and you know which one.

  1. Just you

You started vibe coding on your own machine, a model and nothing around it, and you really were fast.

  2. Your team joined in

Everybody shipped into one repo with no rules. So you moved to a generic harness and never asked your user, and your engineers became harness engineers, work nobody pays you for.

    HARNESSENGINEERING
  3. It scaled out of control

Now all your teams hold the same tooling your organization gave them. No two of them ship the same way, so nobody can compare them, steer them, or improve them together.

Your people did everything right, and Vibe Coding kept its promise on speed. Scaling it beyond the prototype raised a new organizational challenge: AI Governance.

When AI code reaches production, an organization runs on a Software Factory, not on vibe coding or a generic harness. So everyone gets their nights back.

What the Factory is

Your teams keep the way they work today, and with us they shape the Factory around it, until it holds across every team.

When we leave they run it alone, on an AI augmented way of working that is now yours.

The first stage: the seed

nWave OSS · free

Your engineers stay on your product: we carry the harness engineering and the time it costs. It installs ready and runs as we run it, seven waves with a human gate at the bottom of every one. Your Factory is cut from exactly this seed, so it comes whole.

The second stage: we shape it

your teams, your way of working

Your teams do the shaping, supervised and coached by BriX harness engineers: experts in AI, craftsmanship and modern software engineering, who turn what your people expect into predictable behaviour from the harness. Your people learn it as they build.

The final stage: your Factory

Software Factory tuned to you

Your organization has evolved into AI-native software delivery, its SDLC now mature, fitted to your own domain and to the engineering practices that make a Factory hold. Your teams deliver at superhuman quality, at the speed vibe coding promised.

Who built it

Meet who built it

A Software Factory carries somebody's judgement about what good software costs. Here is whose.

Two software engineering veterans built this. They had spent years on craftsmanship, then on machine learning, then on AI applied to code, and when the three converged they gave the result away on Valentine's Day. Not a launch. A gift to the generation of developers who will inherit what AI does to this craft.

He has practised martial arts since he was six, and teaches them still. That is where the Dojo takes its name, and it is not a borrowed word.

He found the same discipline in a Formula 1 pit, where a rehearsed movement is worth more than a clever one, and has spent the twenty years since putting that standard into software.

The SW Craftsmanship Dojo® is that standard taught: small steps, tests first, honest feedback. Fourteen years of it became a paper for XP 2024. More than twenty thousand engineers have come through the Dojo.

Machine learning from 2015. AI applied to code from 2019, with Tabnine, Sourcery and Kite, when the tools finished your line and understood nothing. One obsession the whole way through: build agents good enough to sit in a product team and raise the humans, not replace them.

Alessandro is the other half of it.

Alessandro Di Gioia

Alessandro Di Gioia

Co-creator of nWave

He learned it as a child practising kung fu, where precision was never the point but served a larger design: many small correct movements add up to something great.

Twenty years of software in Milan, Stavanger and London, for startups, for asset managers like M&G and retailers like ASOS. He co-founded Alcor Academy and has taught the craft to engineers across Europe, from CSS Insurance in Switzerland to Bouvet in Norway.

When AI began writing code he saw teams moving faster and trusting their own software less, engineers spending their days checking work they had not written and could not quite believe. He wanted to end that, not describe it. nWave works the way a careful engineer does: one verified step at a time, and it stops to ask when it is not sure.

Michele is the other half of it.

See it run

Watch how a product delivery runs

Nothing here runs without you. It stops and waits for human judgement, and it never leaves you guessing. A deterministic execution system based on seven waves guides you from product discovery to code delivery. An adversarial review system repairs where needed preparing for the next command, so you certify what no machine can: the quality, and the result your users signed for.

Seven waves, a human gate at the bottom of every one, and one refused reviewOne delivery runs left to right through the seven waves of the method: Discover, Diverge, Discuss, Design, DevOps, Distill, Deliver. Every rise is the agents working and every peak is an adversarial review. At the bottom of each wave the line flattens and turns white: the work stops there and waits for a person. Six of the eight gates carry a filled white mark with a green centre, meaning a person has approved them and the checks passed; the remaining two are empty rings, still waiting. The run reaches the sixth peak, Distill, and stops: that peak is drawn hollow and crossed in red, because the adversarial review refused it. A red echo rings the gate after Discuss, the gate where the Lean UX user journey was signed, because that is the agreement the refused tests diverge from.DISCOVERDIVERGEDISCUSSDESIGNDEVOPSDISTILLDELIVER

Rippily.comopens in a new tab was our zero user.

We helped Claudio Perrone, its founder, stand up his own Software Factory, and then we shaped it around the one thing he refuses to compromise: a product worthy of Apple. That obsession is now a gate inside his factory, held by his own agent, Steve, who questions every screen, every word and every interaction. Nothing ships until Steve is satisfied.

That gate is why he can still vibe code when he is spiking an idea. He and Steve can build a prototype, throw it away and build another, until the one in front of a user is the one that wins. The mess is safe: he knows the winning spike gets thrown away too, and rebuilt properly by nWave.

Today Rippily is live. From the first sketch to a full MMP took him less than two months.

“Superhuman quality at vibe coding speed.” Rippily is where that sentence stopped being a promise.

Dave Farley opened AI Briefings, his new series on AI assisted software development, with us. His goal for the series is to talk to people doing interesting things in that space, so we walked him through nWave. Then he tried it on a project of his own.

“I have tried it … and I do think it helps to focus us on good small steps.”

“Hexagonal architecture, deployment pipelines, double loop test-driven development with acceptance test-driven development, and so on are all built into the approach.”
